Happy New Year to each and every one of you.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas; ate lots, drank equally as much and enjoyed the company of your friends and/or family during this festive time.
We certainly did.
For the first time in 8 years, we had Christmas lunch at our little humble cottage because my parents sold their pub in Warwickshire earlier this year and that’s where we have spent our Christmas day and Boxing day in the past.
Being a Horse Owner
Many of us horse owners still have to look after the horses over the festive period, we don’t get a holiday from them and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Having Olly home for a second Christmas is just a magical feeling and one I never thought I’d experience again.
I don’t know about you but I always feel a little deflated right after Christmas.
Then soon as the New Year is seen in it’s like the world stands still, just for a week or two, but literally nothing really much seems to happen
Then before we know it, the majority go back to their day jobs, the children go back to school and the world goes back to its normal everyday routine.
Looking back over the last 12 months I am really proud of how far I have come and pleased to say that although there has been many peaks and troughs of positive and negative moments, I can definitely say that the business, my training and my family life
My review of 2018 is both positive and negative. There were times when I fell into a lull of despair, lacking confidence in what I could and couldn’t do, my anxiety got the better of me on more
So, my top 12 highlights of 2018 are:
- Launching the Brass Stirrup Keyring, that has become my best seller.
- Ridden more times this year than I have in the last 5 years.
- Repaired lots of leatherwork.
- Made some lovely saddlery accessories.
- Displayed a stand at a few horse shows.
- Displayed at my very first Business Exhibition.
- Launched online shops on both my Website and at Etsy.com.
- Made improvements to my social media presence.
- Invested income back into the business.
- Obtained some free mentoring and attended free business workshops.
- Become more focused, and finally,
- Enjoyed every minute of the journey.
