Unless you are a new horse owner (or loaner), like me, you should be well versed in the requirements of equine worming. However, not all of us know everything and certainly since I last owned Olly guidelines regarding worming has changed, so this is a little post to remind or advise those of you who may be a little rusty when it comes to worming your horse.

Week 9 of Olly’s Update

On Tuesday Olly had his feet done. Our Farrier, Ryan Darbyshire, is great. He understands Olly’s seperation issues and because Olly was only having a trim Ryan came into the horses field and he trimmed him there and then. When we arrived they were all lying down on the brow of the hill in the sunshine. What a day today has been!

I had planned today to be such a positive forward moving type of day with lots of leatherwork to do and social media and blog writing to schedule but boy did it turn out to be way different……Firstly, I had the dentist this morning, it wasn’t just a check up this time neither it was to have some x-rays, a filling and a clean but after numerous terrifying childhood experiences at the dentist I hate having ‘work done’ to my teeth……Then to top the day off I had to try and get one of our cars into a garage urgently which was proving to be more difficult than originally thought. Week 8 of Olly’s Update

It has been another week of feed, check over and run I’m afraid as work has started to pick up and the children seem to have more and more going on in their social life than I do, so I end up being a taxi.

Anyway, Monday (5th) was a special visit because my daughter who is 11yrs old came with me to visit the horses. She’s not as horsey mad as I was at her age but that could be a good thing, right?! We didn’t have her wellies in the car so she just had nose rubs with Olly over the gate, here are a couple of pictures to show you…
